A 1985 study [1] has shown that neem is a powerful spermicidal agent. Amazingly, human sperms become completely immobile within 30 seconds of contact with neem oil, thus when neem oil was applied inside the vagina, before sexual intercourse, it successfully averts pregnancy.
“Both neem paste and neem oil can be used as effective deterrents of pregnancy. They have to be applied locally in the vagina” says Dr Neelam, a professor at Department of Prasuti Tantra, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. When asked if there were any risks involved, Dr Neelam said, “None. If anything, it is beneficial for the vagina since it prevents infections of any type.”
Furthermore, even after extensive use of neem oil as a contraceptive, fertility is NOT adversely affected, rather women can conceive without any complications once treatment discontinues. Regular usage of neem oil is a cheap, natural and an effective method to prevent pregnancy. Neem oil causes no irritation or discomfort as chemical-based spermicidal foams do, rather it doubles as a lubricant and even offers an added degree of protection from sexually transmitted diseases. The only draw back is the pungent scent that is neem oil’s signature.
How Neem Oil Works
When to use:
Our product can be inserted into the vagina before or after sex. We recommend after because Neem Oil does have a smell. Neem Oil has been shown to be effective up to 2-7 days after contraception but we only recommended waiting up to 24 hours after sex.
How to use 3 (ways):
1. Saturate your fingers in the oil. Insert them into your vagina until you feel your cervix then apply the oil to the top of your cervix. Do this multiple times if necessary.
2. Saturate a cotton ball/tampon in the oil. Insert the cotton ball into your vagina leave in for 2 minutes then remove.
3. Insert the dropper we provide into your vagina as far as you can then empty the oil inside. Make sure it reaches your cervix with the top of your fingers.
4. Do not rinse out! Your body will take care of the oil for you, the vagina is a self-cleaning organ.
How much should I use?
Each application only requires less than 1/2 of a dropper full of Neem oil. A little goes a long way so do what feels most comfortable for you.
Does Neem Oil freeze?
Neem oil does freeze around 55 degrees Fahrenheit and will form small solid spots. No worries, simply dethaw in a warm place and it's good to go! Store in a cool, dark place.
Will my fertility be affected after I stop the use of this?
No, not at all. After the neem oil has left your system you will be fertile and your womb will be healthy and happy.
Can I mix your product with other oils?
Yes, it is safe to mix. Our product is 100% neem oil which can be added to avocado oil and other carrier oils. Be sure not to dilute the oil too much or you could change its effectiveness. Adding a small amount of tea tree oil can help cleanse the womb from diseases.
